What's New?

I know it's been a couple weeks, allot of exciting stuff has been going on...still no pictures to prove it as I haven't gotten my camera back yet. I've decided after reading several other blogs recently that I will start using first names, just to make things a little easier for all of us.

The house....

Since the paint we've been making a lot of progress. All of our wood and tile flooring has been installed and I couldn't be happier with the way it's turned out. Nearly all of the interior doors are hung and several of the rooms have baseboards and window trim, too. Siding is being hung on the outside of the house and will be completed very soon. Now we are patiently waiting for the base cabinets to be installed so the counter tops can be templated and the remaining plumbing work completed. I've decided I'd like to move in as soon as we have one working toilet and shower. I've been assured by my much more patient husband that this is not very likely. I'm so very excited to be in our new home. Hank just loves exploring all the rooms, opening and closing all the doors and getting into all the tool boxes and supplies scattered around. He hates to leave, as do I. I really tried convincing Travis we could just "camp out" for a night or so, it hasn't happened.

All of Us...

Hank amazes me every day with all of the things he's learning and understanding. He isn't saying many words, but seems to comprehend everything we're telling him. His latest "game" is finding his nose, eyes, ears & mouth. The nose is definitely the favorite so far and obviously has no problems finding his mom's also! Lately he has become attached to his toothbrush, to the point where I cannot believe I'm actually allowing him to use it for his teeth as he's been dragging it around the entire house, touching it on everything. It really is rather disgusting, but it's a huge battle to get it away from him. I tend to blame his spoiled-ness on the grandparents, but I'm pretty sure I don't help the situation at all.

Last week was a rough one for mom, Hank really loves his sitter Sue. That's great right? It's great until he would rather stay at her house than come home with me. This week has been much better, apparently it's just a "phase" or so I've been told.

Travis has been staying very busy working at the new house. He has been spending most of his free time there helping out with any and everything he can. He claims he really is enjoying all the manual labor, but his back is feeling it!

Me, well not much going on with me. Work has been extremely busy, as I'm sure you can imagine. The economy is having quite the effect on our workload, many people losing their jobs and others being forced to retire. We're so, so busy, but I consider that job security! Last weekend I joined a Bachelorette party in St. Louis, I do have one picture I'll include - it's sure to bring a good laugh!

I hope to have my camera back very soon and will be posting some new pictures!!
